About Railglobe
Railglobe is a free, non-profit world map where anyone can watch trains moving in real time, see how late they are and what is disrupting the network.
How it works
Every country publishes its railway data in its own way. Railglobe reads each official open feed regularly, converts it into a common format and draws it on the map. Your browser never contacts the operators directly: it only reads small files that our server prepares every few seconds.
Some operators publish the real GPS position of each train. Others only publish the delay at each stop: in that case we estimate where the train is between two stations using the timetable and the delay. Estimated trains are drawn hollow, and the train card says so.
Colours and shapes
- On time or under 5 min late
- 5 to 14 min late
- 15 min or more late
- Section with an incident
Principles
No accounts, no advertising, no tracking cookies, no third-party analytics. The map, tiles and fonts are served from our own server. Station and train names are shown exactly as the operator publishes them.
Why is my country grey?
Because we have not yet found an official open feed with a licence that allows public display, or because it needs a key that is being requested. The full list is on the page Sources.
